Movement22 - Veteran Suicide Prevention Program
Dr. Wegmann was influential in helping to start the Veteran Suicide Prevention network called Movement22.
In the first 6 weeks of operation this network helped over 600 Veterans in a dark place. In the first year we are proud to say Movement22 connected with over 6000 Veterans who were contemplating suicide. Veteran suicide is one of the most devastating realities of combat. Current statistics put Veteran suicide at #22 per day. While many people raise awareness, one group is delivering on their promise to help. Movement22 is a Veteran run, for-cause organization that operates peer-to-peer that formed out of the staggering need to help fellow Veterans struggling to adjust to civilian life. Movement22 is one of the best programs to come out of the Veteran community. In the picture, the Founder and Chair of Movement22 Johnny Primo is signing the official papers with the President of Social Responsibility Inc., Dr. Wegmann, making Movement22 an official distinct program of Social Responsibility. Social Responsibility will act as an incubator and consultants for Movement22. Dr. Wegmann with Purpose Maker LLC., and the group at Social Responsibility Inc., will act as Senior Advisers for Movement22 in the area of research, curriculum development and Veteran policy. |
